The academics are structured to provide each student the individualized attention they need to excel. Each student has his/her own private tutor for each core subject: math, English, science and social studies. Core subjects can be taught at three levels: standard, honors, and remedial. Group instruction complements the one student: one teacher instruction.
Each student is also enrolled in two elective subjects taught in small groups. Two hours each day are spent in supervised study hall. The school's student-to-teacher ratio is an extremely low 2:1. The Tenney School has maintained an accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) since 1979.
Summer school is available for remediation, enrichment or credit. |
